Entrants, their family and friends are encouraged to make a weekend of it. Overnight camping facilities are being offered at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club whilst this popular tourist destination offers a wealth of hotels, B&B’s, restaurants and facilities.
There are three walks – the main Challenge walk is 26 miles (42 Km) and the others are 15.5 miles (25Km) and 6.2 miles (10Km).
All the walks cover a different area from the Marathon. Starting and finishing at the Rugby Club the longer routes explore the lovely West Suffolk countryside and all three walks visit the historic centre of Bury St Edmunds and its interesting military history.
Bury St Edmunds’ long-established links with the forces was instrumental in the choice of charities to support. With Forces bases at nearby Mildenhall, Lakenheatth and Honington funds raised from the Challenge Walks will be donated to the Royal British Legion etc...
The Ordnance Survey map that covers the route is:
OS Landranger map Sheet 155.
